Russia: a great country admired for its people, history, literature, dance, sports and music.
This is the second piano concerto wrote by Sergei Rachmaninoff (1873, Novgorod, RUSSIA).
Performed by UKRAINIAN pianist Anna Borisyna Fedorava (born Kiev, 1990). The composition is based on simple Russian folktunes.
In 1900, Rachmaninoff dedicated the concerto to Nikolai Dahl, the Russian physician who had done much to restore Rachmaninoff’s self-confidence.
Call me old-fashioned, but music can settle many disputes. The rest is silence.
